What is wholesaler?
A wholesaler is a business that buys goods in large quantities and resells them to other businesses rather than to consumers. In everyday use, “wholesaler” and “distributor” mean much the same thing, and many companies call themselves wholesale distributors.
How it works
Where people draw a line between the two, see distributor vs wholesaler.
Wholesaler example
The owner of a plumbing supply house calls it a wholesaler; its website calls it a distributor. Both words describe the same business, which buys from manufacturers and sells to plumbing contractors.
