What is reorder pattern?

A reorder pattern is the rhythm in which a customer buys an item again, such as a case of gloves every two weeks or a filter every quarter. Distributors use reorder patterns to remind customers before they run out and to notice when an expected order doesn’t arrive.

Reorder pattern example

A machine shop has ordered the same coolant every 30 days for a year. On day 35, with no order in, the inside rep calls to ask whether anything has changed.
